How to Use Text Formatter & Cleaner
Text Formatter & Cleaner provides simple tools for changing text capitalization, cleaning common formatting problems, and checking basic text statistics. Follow the steps below to get the most from the tool.
Getting Started
- 1 Open the Home page.
- 2 Type your text into the editor or paste text from another application.
- 3 Choose the formatting or cleaning operation you need.
- 4 Review the result and use the Copy button when you are ready to use the formatted text.
Text Case Conversion
Sentence Case
Use Sentence Case when you want the beginning of sentences capitalized while converting the remaining letters to lowercase.
Example: hello WORLD. THIS IS TEXT. becomes Hello world. This is text.
lowercase
Use lowercase to convert all alphabetic characters in the text to small letters.
Example: Hello WORLD becomes hello world.
UPPERCASE
Use UPPERCASE to convert all alphabetic characters to capital letters.
Example: Hello world becomes HELLO WORLD.
Capitalized Case
Use Capitalized Case to capitalize the first letter of each word.
Example: hello world from text formatter becomes Hello World From Text Formatter.
Title Case
Use Title Case when preparing headings or titles. Common short connecting words may remain lowercase according to the tool's title-case rules.
Example: the quick brown fox becomes The Quick Brown Fox.
Cleaning Text
Remove Commas
Use Remove Commas to remove comma characters from your text. This can be useful when preparing lists or text copied from another source.
Example: John, Mary, David becomes John Mary David.
Remove Extra Spaces
Use Remove Extra Spaces to reduce repeated spaces and tabs. The operation keeps the text's line structure while cleaning unnecessary spacing.
Example: Hello world becomes Hello world.
Text Statistics
The editor automatically updates basic statistics while you type or paste text.
Words
Shows the number of words detected in the text.
Characters
Shows the total number of characters in the editor.
Sentences
Provides an estimate of the number of sentences in the text.
Reading Time
Provides an estimated reading time based on the text's word count.
Editing Controls
Copy
Click Copy after completing your formatting or cleaning operation to copy the current text to your clipboard.
Clear
Click Clear when you want to remove the current text from the editor.
Undo and Redo
Use Undo to reverse a recent change and Redo to restore a change that was undone. Keyboard shortcuts are also supported for common undo and redo actions.
Sample Text
Use Sample Text when you want to quickly load example content into the editor and test the available formatting features.
Light and Dark Mode
Use the theme button on the main page to switch between light and dark appearance. Your selected theme can be saved in your browser for future visits.
Tips for Faster Text Formatting
- Paste the complete block of text into the editor before choosing a formatting operation.
- Use the case conversion buttons when you need to standardize capitalization across a larger block of text.
- Use Remove Extra Spaces after copying text from documents or other sources that contain inconsistent spacing.
- Check the statistics displayed below the editor when you need a quick estimate of the text length.
- Use Undo if a conversion produces a result you do not want.
